Vent is a recognised mountaineer's village and offers a wide range of summer activities: over 26 hiking routes for all ability levels, more than 13 high-altitude tours to peaks above 3,000 m (including the Wildspitze, Similaun, Weißkugel and Finailspitze), climbing in 19 climbing gardens and on 8 via ferratas across the Ötztal, mountain biking and e-biking, and summer gondolas reaching above 2,600 m. Guided hikes in the Ötztal Nature Park are also on offer.
The Bike Republic Sölden is only about 20 minutes by car from Hotel Similaun and offers natural trails, lines of all difficulty levels and pumptracks in the valley.
Yes. The Vent Mountain Guide Office offers guided high-altitude tours into the glaciers of the inner Ötztal. The most popular destinations include the Wildspitze, Similaun, Weißkugel and Finailspitze. Hotel Similaun strongly recommends undertaking these tours with an experienced mountain guide.
The family-friendly ski area of Vent is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel and includes 15 km of slopes for beginners and intermediates, a toboggan run, ice skating and curling, and a snow playground for children. Thanks to its high altitude, the ski area has reliable snow conditions through to late April.
Both major ski resorts are only about 20–25 minutes by car. Sölden offers 144 km of slopes and 31 lifts; Obergurgl-Hochgurgl has 112 km of slopes. You can also reach Sölden by bus in about 25 minutes.
Yes. Vent is a true ski touring paradise. Countless tours start directly in the village – including the tour to the Similaun, after which the hotel is named. Beginners can explore the area with experienced mountain guides, learning technique and safety along the way.
In addition to skiing and ski touring, Vent offers in winter: snowshoe hikes, winter walks through snow-covered forests, a cross-country skiing trail (just 3 minutes on foot), an ice-skating rink (1 minute away), tobogganing on the Stablein run, and the in-house wellness area with sauna and steam bath.
In summer, Vent offers families: child-friendly themed hiking trails and moderate walks for all ages, a playground with swings, slides and water play (50 m from the hotel), summer gondolas reaching above 2,600 m, and guided Nature Park Ötztal hikes. The Ötztal Nature Park right on the hotel's doorstep is perfect for exploring together.
In winter, Vent is a true paradise for children: the family-friendly ski area with a beginners' slope is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, a toboggan run starts directly from the ski area, and a snow playground and ice-skating rink with curling are within easy walking distance.
